Spirit Led, Spirit Empowered

The Church has been given a holy commission: go make disciples.

The message of the Gospel was not intended to stay confined within the four walls of where we gather as the Church. The message and its power is housed and carried by every believer who has been born again of the Spirit.

But this commission given to us by our Lord was never intended to be done in our own strength.

Acts 1:4-8

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

We see time and time again in the Book of Acts how the disciples rely on the leading, ability and power of the Person of the Holy Spirit to do what no human could ever do – convict and transform a soul.

This is a supernatural work that must be done by supernatural means.

A life led and empowered by the Holy Spirit is threatening to the kingdom of darkness.

Freedom from captivity. Healing of sickness. Restoration of brokenness. Souls turning from sin to be reconciled to God – these are miracles.

Miracles that can only be wrought by the Holy Spirit. We cannot manufacture these things. We cannot program these things. Nor can we be satisfied with counterfeits.

There is so much more that the Father has in store for His beautiful Bride. We are living in such an exciting time.

Acts 2:17-18

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.

We are living in these last days. And God is pouring out His Spirit; awakening the hearts and minds of His people that we may rise up and carry the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, supernaturally equipped, into a world that He gave His life to save.

2 Corinthians 4:3-7

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
